Safe way to clean Petrucci guitar

Hi everyone, sorry for this ignorant question, but I recently purchased a mystic dream Petrucci 6 string, and it is my first "quality" guitar...needless to say I want to maintain it properly. First, what body polish/cleaner is recommended? And secondly, what about the frets? I used lemon oil on my older guitars fretboard, but in some research I heard it is actually BAD!? Don't want to make any mistakes so please just recommend some products or methods you guys use. Thanks.

A microfiber cloth will do most of what you need for general cleaning. I've used lemon oil without any issues but I'm sure there's gonna be lots of different opinions on that.

I think the lemon oil is great...works wonders. I use Dunlop brand and the bottle says not to use it on maple boards-so a rosewood board like a JP should be no problems!

Dude real easy, the wonder wipe products, all work great all I use now and all my axes look great. If used properly you can even use the fretboard conditioner on maple boards.

Octavarium, you're going to find a kazillion answers to this. Most are safe.

My suggestion is to go with the EB Wonder Wipes products, because those will be safe.

Well, I would honestly have to disagree with the wonder wipe's. I bought some for my BFR's. At first, they worked really well, in fact awesome. After about the first 10 wipe's the roll was practically sopping wet. If I used a wipe it would leave residue streaks all over the finish. I picked up some microfiber towels to fine tune the wipe. About 5-10 more wipe's later, the roll is completely, and I mean TOTALLY, dried out. I have a little more than half a roll left, that is totally useless.

Now before someone asks if I put the lid on correctly or something like that, yes I did. I left the canister in the same place before and after every use, and applied the cap properly. I even left the towels in a roll, not utilizing the cap's clip thing.

I'm not bashing the product, I just found that they didn't work exactly as people were praising them, and for my application I needed to find a better solution.

I have since moved onto a regular old polishing towel from Auto-zone, which in my opinion, works 150% better. And, the best part, it's totally re-usable and only cost 5 bucks for a 3 pack. My guitar finish has never looked better, well sans the first time I opened it

Guys, It's just my opinion so please don't get all crazy harsh on me

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the fret conditioner works awesome! I would highly suggest this product to anyone!
