Foster's United Kingdom web site claims that "Brits drink over 30 pints of the Amber Nectar every second".

You know no one in Australia actually drinks that crap!!!???

It only takes one advert with crocodile dundee and you Poms will buy anything...

Presumably nobody in Oz drinks it because they're too busy downing the XXXX?

Actually Crocodile Dundee is held in very high regard over here, he's right up there along with Jason Donovan and Rolf Harris...

Actually I'd like to know who drinks it as well because absolutely nobody that I know does?

We always assume it's the tens of thousands of backpacking aussie's who feel compelled to come and spend years here (to get away from the XXXX maybe?)

Or perhaps people are just putting it out in their gardens as slug repellant?

Most states here dont get XXXX , its a Queensland thing. The questionable IQ's of the QLD'ers here are testament to the quality of XXXX.

At least they're only backpacking - they intend to return !

Not like the poms setting up their own "Little Britains" up and down the fringes of the West Coast of Oz

Who would have thought you could fit so many houses on a sand dune !

And they all end up looking like this :

So, fancy a Pint ?? hehe

Isn't it great that some Brits selflessly emigrate to the colonies? We think of it a bit like missionary work, helping to keep some cultural ties to the Motherland alive for the often forgotten and isolated inhabitants of these colonies.

That sun tan photo should act as a timely warning to all sensitive, undamaged skin inhabitants of moderate Western-world climates of what can happen when you step into the harsh, alien, sun damaged environment at the tail-end of the world! Thanks for that. I hope that my fellow first world dwellers will take serious note!

I did have a pint with an Aussie once....Lovely fella.....think I took a picture....ah, here it is..

They named it XXXX because they wanted to make it something we could all spell easily.

Indeed you be right! - depending on where in Bristol - the city centre is 60 odd miles away - takes about an hour or so to get there - I'd be up for get together.

I live south of Bristol in Cardiff- the problem is that the River Severn Estuary is in the way!!
If I could fly like a crow it would be a cinch!
You can see from the map here River Severn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that I have to "skirt" the estuary to cross the estuary on the severn bridge Welcome to SEVERN BRIDGE THE GATEWAY TO WALES Mountains in Wales. Visit SEVERN BRIDGE Welsh and the countryside and coast of Wales. Photo Image Gallery Online, UK..
No sweat - let me know what your itinerary is and it would be great to get something organised ?
