Take Stock In Gold - Sequoia Gold (New Arrival)

Hey, when the stock market falls -- invest in Gold!

I just got my new Ball today. UPS got here just as I was about to leave for a meeting late this afternoon. I didn't get back until after dinner which meant it was time to get the kids ready for bed (PJ's, books, brushing teeth, and so on..). All the while I'm thinking about that lizard skin case downstairs calling my name .

I'll take better pictures tomorrow when I've got proper lighting. I snapped these pics with a halogen lamp as my only source of light and the results were not at all what I hoped for. As a result, I'm only willing to post these two pictures .

I love the color of this guitar -- subtle yet complex with very warm shades that change when you get under the light. The only problem with Sequoia Gold is that it's a royal pain in the rear to photograph . I tried to describe the finish to a friend today and realized that verbally capturing this color is as hard as photographing it!

Enough of the color -- it's a guitar after all -- a Silhouette Special, SSS, with tremelo to be exact. I had to adjust the truss rod a bit to get rid of some fret buzz (no doubt due its journey), but everything looks and plays very well. It's a very comfortable guitar to play. Unfortunately, the kids are sleeping which means I've only played it through my little Roland Cube. It's got great clean tones and handles distortion very well. Tomorrow I'll fire up the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and really let it sing.

Lionel, I think it was the lighting. I didn't change the white balance on my camera to account for the light I was using. That surely messed up the results

OK, here are some additional pics -- not the best but better than my results last night. I may try to take it outside later today. These pictures really show how dark the color is without direct light. In fact, it looks like a solid color without a direct light souce -- hiding the metal flake appearance.
