Split humbuckers will produce a nice trebly clean tone. But that's still not entirely a single coil tone. It's a nice enough compromise. But PAFs tend to still have that honk to them, which is pretty evident on that clip. It's a good thing that the 25th is a 22 fretter HH guitar. But I couldn't really hear how the chambered body was altering the tone. I guess I'll really have to do try and see. (Then again, I still can't tell between chambered or solid Les Pauls either).

Thanks for checking it out guys! The chambers really become noticeable with making it sing through an amp. It's a more controllable feedback at a tolerable level. Like BP said, it's similar to an Axis but the parallel/series gives a bunch of different tone options. Also makes a really nice "rolled off" dirty tone possible. Plus, my shoulder really digs the lack of wood, haha. At least that's my experience.

Awesome stuff Travis. Very tasty playing and some a great variety of tones you're getting from that 25th.

My friend has one of these coming next Monday. I know he's excited about it. After hearing those tones, now so am I.

Quack I understand. Honk on a guitar? No.
Ever played a really woody sounding Les Paul? Some of those which are very mid rangey would produce a very nasal "dawwww...." sort of tone, and when plugged in, the neck pickup... Sliding up and down on the low E string on a PAF sometimes gives that vibe... Or at least, that's what I call honk.

Could be the wrong term though.

Stick to playing with your Balls, Lionel.

Honk ?? - Seems like you've been playing with your horn a bit too much

(although I do think I get what you're getting at)

Spot on Lionel, thats what I find on a lot of dual humbucker guitars, that clean honk which is so undesirable, cant beat a great single coil like on the AL's or silo specials, id rather not compromise- life is too short!
