Quick hijack;

thanks for uploading that pic, that is a great combo Pete. I hope my temptation to buy it wanes; I'm trying to buy a house this year.

HA! I'm in the same boat, looking to buy a house within the next 2 months actually... that's why I'm hoping I play one of these and don't love it but I get the feeling that won't be the case!

the sick part with me is that i already have a rosewood neck JP coming and I'm looking to get another guitar before that one is even in my hands. Oh GAS hurts.

Your rosewood lefty JP should be here towards the end of next week. Would you like me to ship you the Sterling Silver LUKE along with it?

I'm saving towards a new house, also - the dog is too big for my current place, and I'm out of room to store guitars. Hopefully I can grab a 25th!

I totally agree with that. I noticed better chord definition, especially on high gain settings. The tone is a little earthier/darker than a maple neck. A little darker than a mahogany BFR neck even...though this could be the difference in pickup orientation between the JP6 and JP7 doing that also...

I can't believe this, but I haven't been playing too many harmonics lately. I guess I've been too mesmerized by the feel of the neck...

Dude I just got my Thorn R/S (absolutely BADASS guitar btw! ) and I'm already thinking about finding a way to grab a rosewood-necked JP7. I also have a custom carbon fiber 7-string (similar to a Parker) on order with Oni guitars right now... I really don't "need" it but man that GAS is a bitch!

The JP must have been sent by Pony Express, Dan told me that it was shipping last Wednesday or Thursday latest.

And as long as that Luke is free of charge, I'll take it!!! Don't you have some sort of "buy 2 get 1 free" deal??

Might check BassCentral.com also...I think they have an Emerald Burst BFR JP7 with all rosewood neck. A little on the expensive side since it's a BFR+BFR RW Neck, but you would get the mahogany tone block and push/pull pot on that one

Sure, paying for that JP twice gets you a free Luke!

Sweet, yeah they have an amber one that was pretty hot as well but way more than I can afford to spend right now with the home purchase looming overhead!

For you Canadians, The Arts in Newmarket still has some lovely ones. They have a Pearl White Silo Special HSS trem, and two Axis SS (one with a top that looks like East Coast maple with all kinds of interesting stuff happening in it).
I got the Albert Lee in Pearl White SSS trem. Just WOW! Light to the point that if the body was any lighter it would be verging on neck-heavy. I was really interested to hear how the combination of swampash body and RW neck would sound,and the verdict is...outstanding. It retains the harmonics and pop of a great swampash axe, but adds more attack and low-mids. The sustain and sheer acoustic output are quite unreal. You can really hear all the wood and even the windings on the basses. I had a 2006 Limited Albert that was quite phenomenal; this one clobbers it.
DO NOT miss out on one of these guitars!-Eric
