Those first 2 would be really cool, though I'm not sure what they'd change about the Silent Circuit. The only thing I could think of would be making it not require a battery, but I don't know if that would work.

How about six little preloaded spools of guitar strings? Say 30 feet of string on each spool. You load them into the special new bridge, and when it's time for new strings, you cut the used part off (with the integral cutter), then just pull out some more, run them through the posts, and retune. You get ten string changes before having to replace the spools.

Or, I have no idea.

being from EBMM, you have to be at least 10% unprepared for it. they wont bother otherwise. extra options could certainly interest me but that's hardly game changing.

if they decided to skip distributors and setup their own chain of distribution, THAT would be a game changer. it would put them in the same league as you know who.

a little bug tells me it could be something to do with tone shaping. the 25th was a jump in this direction. maybe we'll get the bongo EQ in EBMM skinny stringers. that makes plenty of sense to me. think about it, bass players can adapt to the gig in a turn of dial. considering alot of MM players are recording players, that option would be great. no more tube screamers, no more graphic EQs...

and extended videos of all the music man guitars thru proper expensive amps (at least 2 for each guitar) recorded with mics and no effects or compression other than those generated by the amp, that would be BRILLIANT marketing.

That would be pretty cool, but I keep thinking back on what BP said. He didn't say "all EBMM guitars" he said "all guitars" which leads me to think it's not something specific to EBMM instruments. Everyone seems to be thinking EBMM specific which is cool, but doesn't neccessarily make it a "game changer."

Tone shaping could be the tip of the iceberg. I'm thinking effects pedals. If adding an EQ to an instrument was a solution for getting rid of TubeScreamers and GEQ pedals, it would have been done ages ago. If EB can tap into a market they aren't currently a big player in, make awesome products which will blow away the big players, and offer them at a better price I could totally see that as a game changer.

Think about the EB Wah pedal. That could have been a test run to see how response would be and it didn't take much along the lines of retooling since the pedal has the same frame as the VP Jr. so it was a lower risk in comparison to offering a completely new product or line of products.

What about new MusicMan amplifiers ????

I believe there is something great that can be done (look at MarkBass : they produce innovative products all made in Italy). What about a light amp (with Neodymium speakers) for the gigging musician who's a bit fed up to carry a heavy tube amp ?

I could see that as a game changer, too. Same concept as effects.

ummm am I missing something here?
The thread talks about a gamechanger but subsequent posts talk about guitar mods.

Sorry not wishing to sound harsh in this cyber chat.

Maybe a separate thread on Guitar innovations would be more appropriate.

Spud turns and runs.

This is exactly what I was thinking, Spud. I wouldn't consider a guitar mod a "game changer" like I would a new product or new invention which changes the market or the nature of the instrument on a global scale.

Some of the ideas here are really good and could be helpful, I just wouldn't consider many of them "game changers"

That's what I'm saying, Smelly! A market EB is currently a small player in. Broaden the horizons and change the game for everyone
