Why didn't my JP6 BFR come with a BFR case?

A week ago I had realized that my JP6 BFR didn't some with a BFR case. I had heard from a GC guy that John wanted all the rosewood BFR's to come in a hard case. Is this true?

I didn't think that any of the BFR Rosewood necks came in a BFR case. I thought I saw a thread on this somewhere that mentioned they were BFR because of the Rosewood neck option and not the same as the BFR models proper. Therefore, no BFR case was included with them or something like that...

This is correct, rosewood neck option came in a standard case. Also very cool that there was basically no upcharge for the rosewood neck, maybe a bit for the inlay but it was very minute.

I would call EBMM CS and they can tell you by your serial # if you have an all BFR JP6 or a JP6 with a limited run RW BFR neck. Especially since you had purchased the guitar at GC and they are notorious with misplacing cases, selling guitars with the wrong cases and even selling cases by themselves. I've seen an all BFR JP6 with the same color and neck options as yours, so I would check with CS to make sure. This way you could find out if your JP6 should have came in the custom G&G BFR case or not.

If your BFR JP has a figured maple top & the mahogany tone block then you should have gotten the G&G deluxe BFR hard-shell case.

If you have a opaque color / standard JP (I see a white one listed in your signature) then you should have an SKB case.

Also, the SKB case retails at $145 and the G&G case retails at $300. It's not realistic to expect any manufacturer to offer an all-rosewood neck as a $300 option, and then kick in an upgrade to a $300 case for free. Besides, in my not so humble opinion the SKB cases hold up better in the long run.

Both my BFR Rosies came with the standard SKB case, yet I happen to know of one dealer here in Germany selling a BFR rosewood necked Luke with a BFR case...don't know how this came about...!

less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your guitar...

Nope, it's a cabernet pearl Luke with BFR Rosewood neck...here's the link to the dealer's ebay offering

NEU Music Man Luke Steve Lukather Rosewood Neck Custom bei eBay.de: E-Gitarren (endet 13.08.09 15:13:03 MESZ)

I have no idea if or why it came to Germany in this case...
