Is there a difference between a Dargie Delight 2 and a BFR Dargie Delight 2?

I keep seeing all these comments about Dargies but what is the difference between the two if there is one?

It just means a BFR model in DD2 finish/options.

You can get a standard JP6 in DD2 with the ebony fretboard, abalone inlays, and DD2 finishs.

Or a JP6 BFR (with the tone block) with the DD2 options.

The difference also being that you can get the BFR JP with the DD2 finishes neck as well.

If I have erred at all, anyone feel free to correct me.

(edit) Haha Scooby beat me to it...

Indeed. Dargie Delight II is a limited edition package in which you got the "Caramel Apple Delight" paint/finish, ebony fret/fingerboard and custom mother of pearl/paua abalone inlays.

So you could have ordered a standard JP with the DDII package. While it would have had cool paint, ebony board and cool inlays, the body remained bass wood as standard.

Had you ordered a BFR JP with the DDII package. You would have got cool paint, ebony board and cool inlays AND all the BFR trimmings... alder body, bookmatched maple top, mahogany tone block etc.

Does the BFR DD2 have the family reserve inlay on it?

It seems they don't. Here's a DD2 BFR Petrucci. No inlay

John's was a one off just for him, it also has smoked pearl inlays which weren't used in the production runs of the DD2's.

Obviously they also made the finished neck available to the public in the end as well. All this information can be found in the various DD2 threads.
