Can anybody here guesstimate around what yr it is, I have never seen a flame top on a EBMM Axis, I've only seen flame tops on the EBMM EVH's I was thinking this is an early Axis guitar but I guess I really wont know until I am able to call in the serial number.

Nice score!

For age, the serial # is your best bet. Can't really make a guess based on the top.

I know... It's a sickness. A matchy matchy sickness, but a sickness nonetheless.

GC Clearance in full effect! Hit me up!

Majority of Axis guitars have figured tops.

Stick you're serial number in the associated thread and you will get a reply in a day or two from Dan.

Also you have now purchased the best guitar ever made. It was worth $250 extra just for that. I mean the Axis line because I can't settle on a particular model. I think you if I was pushed a Supersport with trem would be ultimate Axis if i was only allowed to take one thankfully thats not the case

Congrats and welcome to the EBMM family!

As far as the AX40 goes, I had the chance to play one at GC in Cincinnati. Definitely a top notch guitar, and for the price of entry you can't beat it. Played like a dream and sounded good, too.

I've had the chance to compare a bona fide EBMM Axis and the SBMM AX40 at my local L&M. Mind you, I wasn't playing the Sterling, due to the fact that someone had ordered it, and they were just in to pick it up, so I can't compare the feel, but I heard it demo'd through a H&K combo of some sort, it had a great 'Brown Sound', comparable to the Axis for sure.
