Albert Lee Static

My Albert Lee is making static-like crackling (fairly faint) when I touch the neck or middle pickup or the pickguard adjacent to them. No noise occurs when I touch the bridge pickup, the area around the selector switch or the pickguard above the 6th string. The tone is normal. I checked it with 2 different amps and different cords, so I'm sure it's in the guitar.

Anybody else ever encounter something like this?

Lots of fenderish amps. Anybody need a really nice 1969 Super Reverb?

My Axis did something similar at one point and it was the input jack that was the issue... I would say take it to your local dealer and let them look at it and go from there. Either that or contact CS... but try the dealer first.
