Very nice Colin! I read about the "power amp reduction." That sounds like a good feature. Four channels too!

Congratulations you lucky F*****G B*****D. That guitar is stunning and as for the amp been watching some videos on youtube, and really they sound sweet. big range of sounds and tones loads of fun for you now, and now you have to choose which ball you play with, unless you play both of your balls kinda like Micheal Angelo Batio!!!!!!!!!! (google and you will see what i mean)

all the best my friend i know how long you have waited for that dream rig.
next time im down in cork i have to drop by for a jam

Wow! Colin I'm loving it! And the BBB BFR JP sure is a stunner, that 25th too!

I'm just wondering.... 200W's not too much headroom for the house?

Hey colin, we all know the jp bfr is a metal beast. Can the 25th keep up with the amp? Brutal metal tone possible?

hey jimmy,

Ya this amp is very versatile thats why i went for it in the end.I havent had a proper chance to fiddle around with the channels and dial in some nice tones but from what ive heard so far it can handle the 25th no problem.
It has tons of gain enough to play DT and the likes of Metallica but its also has beautiful warm clean channels which has 2 modes bright&sparkly or warm.
If you go to the blackstar official website you can Jamie humphries demoing it and showing its best features.

cheers,
Colin

So can I deduce that with a amp like this, AND with the pickups on the 25th, DTs/Metallica tunes / clean tones can all be nailed easily?

You got yourself a versatile amp AND a new axe there, colin! Congrats!

The only feature the JP has on the 25th is the floating trem which can give you more of a metal/rock egde on the 25th.otherwise the 25th can cover everything else, the ability to split to the coils is a great feature.

Great looking set-up, Colin. I'll say it again...very NICE 25th. Is Blackstar the company started by the former Marshall guys?

thats right scott, two former engineers from marshall setup blackstar a couple of years ago.
Their new range is absolutely unbelievabe, would even give mesaboogie a run for their money IMHO!
