I saw them 3 times on this tour and he used the cherry burst everytime for TCOT, are you sure it was the Dargie you saw Jonah? I think I remember you mentioning that over the summer.

He didn't play the Cherry Burst OR the Dargie for TCOT when I saw them in Chicago. If I remember correctly, it was a Tobacco Burst he was using.

I'm sure he plays the one he feels like...depending on his mood and preference for the evening.

Here you go. I posted a screen shot from over the summer and everyone thought it was the Cherry Burst it was so red, but I seem to have not bookmarked that one.

and the ending of this one

Every time I've seen one, or even a picture of one it looks different. I feel like I no longer have any point of reference for what the color looks like.
I'd definitely agree with what's been said. When I "hunt" for the colours in my JP6 MD I can find at least 4 colours. The most prominent is Purple, then Green, then I'd say a redish hue, and that elusive Orange is probably the hardest to find. Those are the four colours I can think of off the top of my head at least. Oh, and I find the best way to "find" the orange is to hold the guitar in natural light (I.E. by a window) and then tilt it on a relatively extreme angle. It almost always appears when I do that!

As for the Dargie, the progression is just as apparent and it happens equally as often, but they are just different shades of green (for the most part), so obviously most people would take more time to think ". . hey, is that guitar changing colours?" versus when they see the MD and think "Green? I thought that thing was Purple a second ago!" So like everyone has said, the change is as frequent as the MD and it's still very noticeable, but a shift from Emerald to a olive green (or even that coppery caramel for that matter) is still less dramatic than green to purple.

It just looks so good though! It's a very vibrant colour in person, and everytime I see the finish I get all giddy. I love the caramel shades, but when I see the vibrant greens, I just get far more excited than any rational person should, haha Ah well, I just love my Dargie!

But you're right Proto, it's hard to get a basis on the colour. I'd say the three main shades are the coppery caramel, the emerald green, and most prominently, the olive green. Obviously there are tonnes of shades inbetween, and maybe that is one advantage the DDII's have over the MD's--what they lack in stark contrast they make up for in a continuous dynamic colour spectrum. But I still think of the Dargie II's as being olive green for the most part.

Cool. I love my original DD JP. The DD2 BFR JP's look killer. Really like the look of the painted necks on those.

I've been hearing any day now for 3 weeks, lol. It's a vast anti-left conspiracy, I'm sure of it. Dizzy must be stopped.
