I wasn't saying anything about how you do business or source wood. I was commenting how some forumites will use this as ammo for bashing Gibson. Sorry if I offended you- not my intention. I just hate to see threads that descend into bashing other brands, when we are/should be above that.

By the way, but do you think anyone will ever get a their own signiature Luke or AL? (other than Luke or AL!!!)

Don't mean to ninja the thread, but I read that EB had chosen Linux over MS at one point?

Google it, or use the search. EB wound up doing their own thing and not using MS, and were one of the first (if not THE first) big companies to do so. Pretty interesting read...

I remember reading about it on the forum and never really looked into it. A quick Google search dug this up:

Staying in the middle is the name of game....and even if I tend to be polemic easily, I'd definitely regard Gibson innocent unless proven guilty. Period.

Europe is getting flooded by mass production cheapo sh** from China sold through Ebay "dealers" to kids that have no idea what they're buying there...and were all those woods come from Those planks get dumped only some two or three years later because those kids either quit guitar playing or have already outgrown that non-playable rubbish. And then it lands on the waste hills in Nowhereland...

China is one of the biggest wood importers in the world...

the ceo of gibson has elected to step down from the board of the rainforest coalition in what appears to be a mutual decision until the facts are judged

Ball told his IT department he wanted Microsoft products out of his business within six months. "I said, 'I don't care if we have to buy 10,000 abacuses,'" recalled Ball, who recently addressed the LinuxWorld trade show. "We won't do business with someone who treats us poorly."

Wow, that's awesome BP... I wish you ran our company.
