Well, I'm officially engaged now. Went today to look at rings and ended up finding one we really liked while we were there, so I went ahead and bought it.
Kinda like how we went looking at kittens yesterday and ended up buying one of those, too....

She just finished law school and starts a 2 year clerkship with a superior court judge after she passes the bar. Any girl I can take to Slayer AND Sonny Rollins is a keeper.

Since she is now happy with this bauble on her finger, that means I can grab one of these Dargie Delight basses without too much worry. :cool:

Thanks, guys. I knew when we were picking out a ring, and she came in $800 under what I had budgeted to spend that I made the right decision. She's a great gal--loves football more than me, and can cook like nobody's business. She prefers vodka to tequila, but hey--no one's perfect. :D

Hmmm....$800....sounds like a good down payment on a Dargie Delight, eh?

Congrats Jason! She is a keeper.

For what it's worth, my wife also prefers vodka to tequila, and it's never gotten in the way of our relationship. A shared interest in football is also a great thing, unless your favorite team is playing her favorite team. Then it 's best to take a step back. Trust me on this. :D

And thus you have learned the first lesson of marriage. Jewelry and shoes (you'll learn this later) ALWAYS trump a new bass. Just be careful of tying this new bass to the diamond. SHOULD you ever want to sell it, you might have some splainin' to do.
