Ernie Ball Artists Take the Stage at 47th Annual Grammys


SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (February 23, 2006) - The 48th Annual Grammy Awards were a song for Ernie Ball and Music Man endorsed artists, with four of the biggest names in rock and metal today accepting awards on the Grammys stage at the Staples Center on February 8, 2006.

Most impressive was Ernie Ball string users U2, who went home with not one but five Grammy Awards, winning Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album for How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb; Song of the Year and Rock Performance By A Duo Or A Group With Vocal for Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own; and Best Rock Song for City Of Blinding Lights.

Also on Ernie Ball strings, System Of A Down took home the Best Hard Rock Performance award for B.Y.O.B. while Slipknot won the Best Metal Performance title for Before I Forget.

Not to be forgotten, Music Man bass player Phoenix of Linkin Park also earned Grammy gold when Numb/Encore by Jay Z featuring Linkin Park won an award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
