Human Resource Manager

Ernie Ball Inc’s HR Manager is responsible for managing every aspect of the employment needs. The HR Manager is an experienced professional with a background in personnel management and will lead the HR function including planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations, human resources policies, programs, and practices, and talent strategy. The HR Manager plays a key role in developing and driving a company culture that aligns with the company values and business priorities. The HR Manager will work directly with fellow managers and company officers.

? Assist with determining organizational human resources needs and develop programs and processes to support the business needs.
? Work with senior leadership in managing talent needs, retention strategies, talent gaps, training needs, cost challenges, and organizational structures
? Provide change management support
? Partner with leadership and talent acquisition to recruit and select candidates for professional positions
? Administer compensation within predetermined guidelines, coordinate and ensure annual performance reviews are being completed by supervisors
? Provide education around HR processes to leadership
? Organize, create, assemble opportunities for employees to celebrate success and effort, to motivate and engage, to recognize contributions
? Drive key HR initiatives across departments, including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, reward and recognition, progressive discipline, organizational effectiveness and employee communication
? Provide coaching and feedback to managers and employees around performance, personnel issues, dispute resolution, and all areas of employee engagement.
? Communicate company policies, practices and procedures to employees in a manner that is clear and engaging, easy to follow
? Lead compliance efforts and training around potential legal risks, OSHA, EEO reporting
? Lead employee investigations and ensure appropriate outcomes and follow-up
? Asses culture and develop action plans to ensure a positive, engaging and supportive workplace
? Maintain a harassment free workplace by ensuring legal compliance, investigating complaints and training
? Communicate with employees in a timely fashion regarding compensation, benefits, complaints, discipline, and other facets of their employment
? Establish and manage orientation and training programs related to HR policies and procedures to ensure employee are prepared for assignments
? Ensure a payroll plan is in place and timely
? Ensure employee benefit programs are in place and employees are informed of benefits. Recommend benefit programs to management
? Communicate with legal counsel regarding Ernie Ball employment issues
? Ensure HR management guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending HR policies and procedures. Develop and update employee handbook
? Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
? Oversee the organization’s safety program. Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers. Develop plans to lower accident rates and participate in worker’s compensation issues


? Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or Organizational Development
? Minimum 7 years experience in Human Resources, two to three years at the manager level
? Intimate knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
? Demonstrated interpersonal, coaching, and facilitation skills
? Fluent in Spanish preferred, verbal and written
? Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including California employment labor laws
? Experience should include all areas of human resources
? Strong communication and influencing skills
? Capable of working at a fast pace along with being extremely resourceful
? High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
? Proven relationship-building skills
? Credible, honest, transparent and able to deliver results
? Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
? A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
? Success in creating and driving effective employee relations, retention and reward programs
? The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously- orientated on results
? Prior experience leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports
? Great communication skills, comfort in communicating your point of view, selling your ideas, interacting at all levels within the company and acting as a great spokesperson for the organization, our brands, and the company
? Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
? Proven people leader with disposition to coach and develop future HR leaders
? Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult message with professionalism and poise. Demonstrate professional decorum and discretion due to the nature of the work
? Extreme attention to detail with the ability to independently and proactively plan work tasks in advance
