Position:

Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Schedule:

15-20 hours per week

Duties:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern with Ernie Ball Inc. you will work with the Engineering team to help design and build jigs, fixtures and tooling used to manufacture electric guitars and basses. We are looking for a long term commitment of at least 1 year.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Write CNC programs to manufacture parts and tooling using Pro/Manufacture CAM software
Setup and operate CNCs and other machinery for wood and metal fabrication
Design and model parts and assemblies for new and existing products or tooling using Creo 2.0 parametric CAD software
Create and organize mechanical drawings and other documentation for production purposes
Review and understand product and component specifications
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing personnel on design and manufacturing techniques
Source and select the components needed for tooling
Utilize computers for CAD design, research, and communication

Requirements:

Knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably Creo, Pro/Engineer, Fusion 360, or equivalent
Knowledge of 3-6 axis CAM software, preferably Creo, Pro/Engineer, Roboguide or equivalent
Current enrollment or undergraduate degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or other related field
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensions and tolerances
Familiarity with woodworking, metalworking and associated tools and machinery is a plus
Programming experience with CNC machines and “G­Code”
Experience working with industrial robotics
Ability to work independently and ensure that projects are followed through from creation to completion
Ability to work effectively and communicate clearly with fellow engineers, production staff, management, vendors and customers both orally and in writing
Ability to be flexible, analytical, and problem solving
Ability to learn quickly and take initiative, work strategically, creatively and professionally
Must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
