In the wake of the hugely successful At The Drive In, The Mars Volta was created by members Omar Rodiguez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala.  Rather than continuing the popular sound of At the Drive In, The Mars Volta have created their own uniquely infectious genre.  Produced by Rick Rubin, their first album "De-Loused in the Comatorium," integrates a unique blend of percussion and string instruments providing listeners with something new to digest.  Over the last few years the Mars Volta have continued to record and released Frances the Mute (2005) Amputechture (2006) The Bedlam in Goliath (2008) featuring a host of guest musicians most notably John Frusiante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
