The Legendary Keith Richards, now in his 6th decade as a musician, songwriter and touring artist. Originally an art school drop out Keith picked up the guitar in the late fifties learning to play tunes by Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. Teaming up with friend Mick Jagger the pair began to write tunes together and by 1963 had their first top ten hit. With a few hits under the seam, Richards and Jaggar formed a group comprised of 5 musicians including Bill Wyman, Brian Jones, and Charley Watts. The Rolling Stones were born and by 1965 had their first hit "Satisfaction". Keith has been the primary guitar player and along with Mick the main songwriter. The two have penned multiple hits "As Tears Go By" It's Only Rock n Roll" "Some Girls" and "Start Me up". In addition to touring Keith has had many solo projects including a stint with the New Barbarians in 1979 and a solo tour in 1988 featuring Keith on vocals. In 2006 Keith made a cameo appearance playing Johnny Depp's father in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean "At Worlds End".
The Stones have been a band for 45 years with no signs of slowing down, gearing up for a new world tour in 2009 a forthcoming new CD and Keith's pending book deal slated for a 2010 release.
