The Edge
Official SiteComposer, guitarist and producer the Edge is U2's driving force and musical leader. Born David Howell Evans, THe Edge formed U2 in Ireland with pals Larry Mullen JR and Bono. Their first hit was Sunday Bloody Sunday written about the turbulent political uprisings in Northern Ireland during its long history.
As main Guitarist, the Edge is know for his effect laden syncopated rhythm parts with a heavy dose of delay. This percussive approach set the Edge apart from his contemporaries, and launched a highly recognizable and definitive trademark that has defined U2's sound to this day.
