Many possibilities:

1. Do you stretch new strings???
2. Does it go out of tune after trem use?
3. How do u install the strings in the locking pegs?

Did it go easiely out of tune with the original string when u bought it? Or did this occur when u changed strings for the first time?.

5. Is the trem adjusted/balanced properly?
6. Are you wrapping the strings around the locking tuners?

How old are the strings. after a couple of weeks I need to change them just to keep them in tune better.

Come to think of it...maybe it's my playing that's out of tune. :p

i'm thinkin ya got some worn nut slots.
a gentle recarve & smoothing of the nut slots & a good lube job may be in order.......

Lubricating the nut and the point where the strings contact the bridge saddles can help a lot! One other issue that comes up is having the pivot screws lowered too much. This can cause unwanted contact between the bridge plate and body, and force the knife edge out of the groove in the pivot screws.

You can use Nut Sauce or something like that. Or you can pick up a can of Super Lube at your corner hardware store and have a lifetime supply of lube for $5.
I used Super Lube and it works!

To address Chister's problem, however, I find it odd that it happens after a year without problems... The only times I had tuning problems like this was with new guitars (new nut, new trem). Once setup, it usually lasts.

i wonder if the locking tuners have grooves in them from being over tightend. im just throwing out ideas here im not sure but it does happen to locking nuts so maybe.

How tight do you lock the tuners so as not to put grooves in them yet still hold tight for whammy bar use?

How much would a replacement set cost?
